Yankees 3, Blue Jays 2-The MelkMan delivers!

Ballgame over, Yankees win, theeeeeee Yankees win.

The yankees kicked off the season in grand style tonight with a great 3-2 win over the Blue Jays. Chien-Mien Wang worked his way in and out of trouble but came away with the win with 7 solid innings pitched.

Roy Halladay pitched well, only giving up three in seven, but his offense could not bail him out.

Yankees got a first run off who else but A-Rod who scored the winning run tonight. The second run to tie the game was a homerun by Melky Cabrera that barely cleared the right field fence. As you could see, Halladay was pissed that ball was gone.

Melky also had two great catches to keep the Yankees close.

The Yankees only missed chance was stranding a leadoff triple in the 8th with Jeter, Abreu and A-rod not getting it done.

Joba worked a great inning of relief, getting Vernon Wells and Frank Thomas out on strikeouts to end the inning and of course Mariano went 1, 2, 3 to get the save.

The Yankees looked solid tonight and Wang did a great job to keep them in the game.

Tomorrow is a different story with Mussina....
