The Rangers won seven of eight games from the Devils in the regular season. That streak continued tonight as the Rangers bested the Devils 4-1 to take the first game of the series tonight in Jersey.
Neither team scored in the first, but the Rangers got on the board quick in the second behind Brendan Shannahan. The Devils tied the score to keep it even going into the third period, but the Rangers exploded for three goals to take the game.
Winning game one was huge for the Rangers, especially on the road. The Rangers could not let the Devils get any momentum.
Next up, Friday in Jersey again.
