Blue Jays 5, Yankees 2-Burnett and Wells power Jays to first win

The Yankees lost their first game of the season and under Joe Girardi, 5-2, to the Blue Jays tonight.

The Yankees just could not get anything going off A.J. Burnett, who has filthy stuff. When this man is healthy and dealing, he is as good as the elite pitchers in the game, But he spends so much time on the D.L. that this doesn't happen.

Games like this are going to happen to the Yankees. Great pitching can always beat great hitting and that happened tonight.

Mike Mussina was ok. He gave up 4 (3 earned) in 5.2 innings, but he did nothing to instill into the heart of the Yankee fan that he will rebound from last year.

The Yankees had their shot at the end with A-Rod, Giambi and Cano all given chances to tie the game with one shot. A-Rod missed two fastballs, Giambi (0-7 so far) flew to the track and Cano swung at the first pitch and popped it up.

Tomorrow will be a great game. Each team would like to earn the opening weeke series victory and Dustin McGowan and Phil Hughes will be two of the best pitchers in the AL East for years to come.
