Rangers postseason look

With the NHL season coming to its finale, I thought I would take a look at how the Rangers chances of the post-season are.

As of now, here are the standings:
1. Devils-80
2. Senators-80
3.Hurricanes-71
4.Canadians-79
5.Penguins-79
6.Bruins-76
7.Rangers-74
8.Flyers-73

The Rangers remaining schedule is as follows:
Phi, NYI, @ NYI, Bos, @ Buf, @ Fla, @ TB, Pit, @ NJ, @ Phi, Phi, NJ, @Pit, Pit, @NYI, NYI, @NJ

That makes:
10 games against playoff teams, 7 against non-playoff teams

The Rangers ultimately control their own destiny. But the team has been playing well, which fares well for its chances. The Rangers are choosing the best time of the season to 6-0-2 in its last 8 games.

The scary thing on this schedule, though, is four games against the Islanders. The Rangers, historically, have problems with the Islaners and DiPietro (a great goalie) seems to have Henrik's number. Those four games will be crucial.

If I have to predict, Pencil the Rangers in for one of the last three spots.
