'Nova 82, 'Cuse 63

Syracuse eliminated itself from any shot at the NCAA Tourny this season with a humiliating 80-63 loss to Villanova. Syracuse came out firing early on and took a quick 11 point lead, but Villanova shot lights out in the second half to take home the game.

The turning point in the game I believe was the final 1:15 of the second half, where Syracuse had a 28-19 lead, and insted of going up by double-digit points into the second half, allowed Villanova to go on an 8-0 run to end the half and pull within one. Villanova then came out firing in the second half to pull out the rout.

Syracuse had a hell of a season, don't get me wrong. Playing with six guys for almost the entire season and to get to where they finished was something that was nothing short of impressive. But too many close losses and not enough veteran leadership on the court to get them to the tourny. Well, atleast I get to see one more homegame.
